HISTORY

1970


Mr. Güner Durmay, sees a tremendous business opportunity in manufacturing metal injection and plastic injection molds for the local and regional early industrialists. He establishes Bolkar Plastic Pressure Die Cast and Mold Industry Joint Stock Company in Istanbul, Turkey.

1972


The company builds its business based on metal molds that were hand crafted in its own mold shop and manufactures the first plastic household appliances such as wall mounted retractable clothes dryer, telescopic window glass cleaner, carpet sweeper. In the same year Bolkar company started to produce injection die cast metal parts for Ford Otosan Factory such as door handles, trunk handles and strike plates to be used in manufacturing of Ford trucks, minibuses and automobiles.

1975


Bolkar starts manufacturing resistance wired electric heater units and thermostat controlled boilers.

1981


The company begins exporting it’s own manufactured products and appliances to Libya. Discovering the Libyan market potential, Bolkar intensifies it’s efforts in building strong and reliable relations and diversifies product range to be exported to Libya.

1990


Bolkar company establishes an office in Moscow, Russian Federation and starts supplying various foodstuff, clothing and products to Russian buyers.

1995


Bolkar completes a large scale construction and furnishing project of a bank headquarter building of total 12.000 m2 area in Ukhta city of Russian Federation.

1997


Bolkar Plastic Pressure Die Cast and Mold Industry Company changes it’s name to Bolkar Foreign Trade Joint Stock Company and begins sourcing from a wide array of countries including Russian Federation, People’s Republic of China, Brazil, France, Ukraine and Turkey.

2001


The company starts to supply foam glass insulation panels to pipeline projects in Russian Federation.

2009


Bolkar acquires exclusive sales rights in Libya from the leading drilling equipment manufacturer in Peoples Republic of China and starts to supply workover rigs and various well drilling equipment.

2013


Furthering its interest in energy sphere, Bolkar starts to supply high voltage electric towers and street lighting poles in Libya.
